I have the tendency to go on a photo walk by myself when I'm upset over stuff.. And so yea, I was pretty depressed and stressed out for the past couple of days. Instead of staying home that night to work on my essay, which is due Monday, I decided that I wanna go somewhere..alone.

Eureka Skydeck 88 is my favorite place to reflect.. Guess what? I spent 5 hours on the observatory the last time when I was sad.

I decided to buy an annual pass anyway, since the price is reasonable and it's always good to know that there is a favorite spot I can go to whenever I like.

So there.. This is one of my favorite photos from last night's Skydeck session. :)

Summer had been pretty nasty to me.. :( And I've been thinking of you all these time...

I actually thought you weren't coming to visit this year, because we are already approaching the winter months.. But here you are!!! You came!!!!!!!! :D

Could you stay a little longer? How about negotiating with Winter for a bit and see how things go?

Please stay, because you are, and will always be, my favorite season of the year.

.inspiring summer

Colorful summer.

As majority of you would already know, summer is my least favorite season of the year.. And interestingly enough, I seem to get most of my photography inspiration during the sunniest time of the year.

Why? I don't really know, perhaps it's the bright, vibrant shades of colors that only appears during this time of the year. Everything just seems much more appealing and yummy under the hot sun than any other time of the year.

Oh wait, autumn is my favorite season of all due to the shades of red, orange and yellow but autumn also marks the time when I'd be horribly sick for a whole month. :\

Anyways, here's another shot from today's trip to Healesville - Marysville - Lake Mountain in the Yarra & Dandenong Ranges:

The Rush.

It kind of reminded me of early April last year, when I'd experienced my first ever sandstorm.

Remember that sandstorm in Melbourne last year? Where trees fell, killed a couple of pedestrians and ruined a Porsche Boxster? Well, it was almost like that today.

People were told to leave work an hour and a half early. Trains were packed. I started getting a little worried about how I am going to get off at Melbourne Central Station the train arrived at Southern Cross Station approximately 3.35pm this afternoon. I was wondering to myself, "Does people actually leave work at 3.40pm? I thought 'peak hour' usually begins at 5???"

And then I remember seeing a Twitter post on my phone from Connex, advising people to leave early. I didn't take it seriously when I first read it.. Until a whole crowd of students and working people board the train in the City Loop stations.

"Gah! How am I supposed to get out!?!?!?!?!?!???" I thought, as the train approached Melb Central. "Excuse me. Sorry. 'cuse me. Thanks. Excuse me." ...I nearly couldn't get off the train!!!
So that's how it's like everyday during peak hour... :\

But hey, that's not it. While walking home from the train station, the wind was soooo strong and I had to put on a little more force than usual to walk forwards. I walked along this construction site and got sand in my eye along the way, which made me think that there was going to be another wave of sand storm this year.

All's good, don't worry.. For those of you who'd thought I got blown away, no, I got home safely before the storm visited Melbourne CBD. :)

Walk for harmony on Swanston Street.

As you all should know by now, Melbourne has been labeled as the world's swine flu capital. Yep it's true, we are currently known for having one of the world's highest number of swine flu cases.

Despite the fact that swine flu spreads rapidly as it has been for the past 3 months, Melburnians have all made an effort to get together at Carlton Garden for the parade down to Federation Square. SF and I were one of them (although we joined in at corner La Trobe and Swanston Streets).

I am aware that racism exist everywhere in this world, even in a multicultural community such as Australia. It is sad, and unfortunately, it is true. :\ And racism should never be tolerated anywhere. Walk for Harmony has been organized to show that we appreciate and support having a multicultural society in Melbourne.

It was great seeing so many people participate in the parade. It has also made me appreciate being here in Melbourne more than before.

.best neighborhood ever

Swanston's Bokeh.

I live on Swanston Street. Hmm.. Is that too much info? :P I don't think so, most of you would have already seen hundreds of my Carlton & Beyond or South-Easterly View shots to know where I live anyways.

Looking at this photo makes me sad, even though the vibrant colors show that Melbourne is a fun and great place to live in. There is a chance of us moving out in mid-January next year.. That is, if the landlord decides to come back to Melbourne to work. We'll have to move out. I don't know where we're going to move to..

I know renting is inevitable, but I really hope to have my own place someday, so that I wouldn't have to move again.. Umm in fact, I've started saving up a few years ago by putting aside an amount of money every month. I still need more jobs just so I could put more money aside for the future.

I don't wanna move out just yet. I love this place and I wanna stay a lil' longer!

But.. I guess we'd better start selling some of the stuff away, just in case.

the Wait.

The four of us decided to go on our very first road trip together on Good Friday. And so we decided to head down to Lakes Entrance (Gippsland - Southeast Victoria) for some crabbing session.

We have talked about going crabbing for a few months now and finally decided to go for it.

I thought we would come back with at least 10 crabs.. Unfortunately, we left Lakes Entrance empty-handed. :\

No wonder seafood is significantly more expensive than any other meats.

The funny part was that we lost the two crab nets too! But that's fine. We were, after all, inexperienced.

SF cheered us up by saying "Let's just take this as an experience. We'll do better next time."

And next time, if we do decide to go crabbing again, I'll be sure to bring more entertainment and probably a waterproof picnic mat.

.docklands on a saturday evening I

Webb.

A lot has happened in the past couple of days... So I decided I need to go out for a walk.. Just me, the 5DmII and iPod.

I decided to go back to Docklands again for a brief photo walk. I thought I'd wait for twilight too since most of my photos were taken during the day. And I must say, that it was worth it. :)

Oh, and guess what? I found Webb Bridge! I tried looking for it last week but failed.. And ended up at the west end of Melbourne Exhibition Center. :\ I might have been grinning to myself without knowing.. LOL let's I hope nobody saw that!

I love Saturday evenings.. It's the only time of the day of the week when I feel totally calm and relaxed. And being in Docklands made it better. I felt so much more positive when I got home from the photo walk session.

Perhaps I will consider moving to Docklands in the next couple of years!

My impression of La Trobe Street.

La Trobe Street.. It's quite a happening street actually, especially along the blocks between Elizabeth and Exhibition Streets.

This was where I first and last met Queen Elizabeth when she was here for the XVIII Commonwealth Game in 2006.

And this was the street that leads up to Gin's old place. I've had loads of good memories there.
